Montes e Vales, my family’s business, runs treasure hunts through Portugal’s streets. Until now, every game needed staff on the ground, and every booking happened over email. I’m turning it into a product people can book and play on their own.
Role: End-to-end: product, game design, UX/UI, build
Status: Games built, testing next
The challenge
A live hunt works because a staff member guides it: handing out clues, checking answers, keeping the pace. Taking staff out of the loop meant the game itself had to do that job, and the website and staff roles need to adapt with it.
What’s built
- The game: a self-led treasure hunt played on your phone, doing the job staff used to do: clues, answer checks, progress. I’m using
- The mechanics: a shared question bank that games are assembled from, designed around players, game creators and staff.
- The booking flow: a redesigned website where clients book and pay online instead of by email.
I’m building with AI
I design the product, the structure and the logic; AI helps me write, debug and test the code. I test every step before it ships. It’s how one designer can take a product from idea to working platform.
Next
- Test the games with real players in Lisbon, and refine the clues, pacing and difficulty.
- Promote the games and track the first self-serve bookings.
This page will grow into a full case study as results come in.
